1. How did Camas Prairie Tea essiac blend originate?
Rene Caisse, a Canadian nurse, received the formula from a patient who acquired the recipe from a Native American medicine man. Beginning in the 1920s, Rene administered the formula to her patients with positive results. The generic name “essiac” is Caisse spelled backwards! You can buy our tea any time over the phone or over the internet from one of our distributors. Camas Prairie Tea Co. itself manufactures essiac Blend and does not sell directly to retail customers. 3. What are the Camas Prairie Tea essiac blend Ingredients?
Burdock root (Arctium lappa), Sheep Sorrel with 25% root (Rumex acetosella), Slippery Elm bark (Ulmus rubra) and Turkey Rhubarb Root (Rheum palmatum) are used in this formula. These herbs are organically grown, manufactured and packaged in accordance with guidelines from Oregon Tilth Certified Organic and the USDA.
4. What percentage of the sheep sorrel is root?
25% of the sheep sorrel is root.
5. The directions are a little complicated; should I follow them exactly?
We suggest you follow the directions precisely.
6. Why should the prepared tea be stored in amber glass bottles?
Camas Prairie Tea essiac Blend is light-sensitive. Store the prepared tea in a dark container. You might re-use root beer, prune juice, iced tea bottles or any dark glass container.

8. What does Camas Prairie Tea essiac blend taste like?
This herbal tea has an earthy, moderately bitter, wholesome taste. It can be sweetened if desired. Since we now use Sheep Sorrel with root, it may taste a little stronger.
9. Should I drink the Camas Prairie Tea essiac blend cold or hot?
It is equally effective whether consumed cold or hot.
10. When I purchase the 3-pound jug, the finer particles settle to the bottom. How do I get the correct dosage of each herb when I make the recipe?
Gently shake the jug to re-mix the ingredients before measuring.
11. What is the shelf life of the Camas Prairie Tea essiac blend?
Camas Prairie Tea essiac Blend has an approximate shelf life of 24 months from the time it is blended and packaged at our certified organic facility.
We blend/package our tea six times a year on a bi-monthly basis. After packaging essiac blend is shipped to our distributors who then sell it to retail stores.
Niether Camas Prairie Tea nor our distributors stockpile our product in warehouses. You can be assured that the product you are using is well within the two year limit.
