Instructions for Preparing the Concentrate
Please Note: The measurements and yields below are approximate. For the greatest accuracy we suggest you use a small kitchen scale to measure out out our tea by weight not volume. Each batch will very by volume due to the variances in the lot and herb cut.
TO MAKE APPROXIMATELY ONE GALLON:
Use one gallon of fresh spring or distilled water and 4 ozs. (entire 4oz. package, or 4oz. by weight) of essiac Blend. Follow steps 1-7 below.
TO MAKE APPROXIMATELY ONE QUART:
Use one quart of fresh spring or distilled water and 1 oz. by weight (1/4 of the 4 oz. package) of essiac Blend. Follow steps 1-7 below.
1. Shake bag or jug thoroughly before preparation to mix herbs well.
2. Bring water to boil, stir in dry blend, lower heat to simmer and cover.
3. Simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir. Cool.
4. Cover and refrigerate for 12 hours.
5. Return to stove, stir, bring back to boil, then lower heat, cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir and cool to room temperature.
6. Tea will be somewhat thick. This is normal. Strain through a fine mesh strainer. Add water to make 1 quart/gallon of concentrate. Funnel liquid into clean amber glass bottles, cap.
7. Tighten cap and refrigerate. This concentrated mixture will stay fresh for 2-3 weeks if refrigerated.
Instructions to Dilute for Use
1. Shake herbal liquid concentrate to mix well. Add 2 oz. of the concentrate to 1 oz. of hot or cold water for one serving. (3 oz. of mixture=1 serving)
2. Drink one or two servings of the tea daily on an empty stomach.
